Thorne, Brooks & Shapiro's primary objective is to resolve your claim in full as quickly as possible with the least cost to you.
Placement of Accounts
Accounts can be placed for collection by email, snail mail (via the Postal Service), fax, our Internet claim submission forms, disk or tape.
Processing of Claims
Upon receipt, each claim is carefully reviewed to determine if we require additional information or specific instructions. Our client and customer information is then assigned to the appropriate associate.
The day received, prior to an associate receiving the file, notice is provided to the customer informing them of our representation. On the same day, an acknowledgment of the claim is sent to you as well.
Claims are then cross-referenced in our databases and affiliates for enabling our firm to consolidate files while increasing information and leverage on each claim.
Initial Contact with the Customer
Upon evaluation, Thorne, Brooks & Shapiro's staff is required to initiate contact with a customer within an hoursí receipt of the claim. We take a professional approach with clear intentions -- gathering facts and explaining the appropriate course of action. We at all times act to preserve goodwill between our client and customer. However, the full balance is always our primary goal.
We generally report within 14 days of receipt of the claim, allowing ample opportunity for study of file(s), contact and amicable response.
If satisfaction or a reasonable arrangement cannot be reached within 30-45 days, the case may be assigned to one of our correspondent attorney in the customerís area for further action based on client approval.
However, should we deem it possible to obtain funds we may pursue the claim in-house for an extended period.
In some cases, a claim may require immediate legal intervention, direct assignment to local counsel which would also be based on client approval.
Fees and Miscellaneous Policies
Thorne, Brooks & Shapiro's fees are strictly contingent upon collection. While our results exceed the standard, our fees are nationally and internationally competitive. In addition, wholesale rates may be available to clients with large volumes of claims, or very large individual accounts. Please contact or email email@example.com with any fee related questions.
Should merchandise be recovered in lieu of cash payment, Thorne, Brooks & Shapiro's fees are charged based on half (1/2) the value of the recovered merchandise. Should it be discovered that an account was paid prior to Thorne, Brooks & Shapiro receiving the claim, 15% of the amount paid may be charged. Cases withdrawn after placement with Thorne, Brooks & Shapiro are subject to regular fees. Thorne, Brooks & Shapiro may retain as compensation for its costs and expenses all lawful sums recovered over and above the principal amount of each claim.
Suits, while undesired, are sometimes necessary. Each of these cases are assigned to counsel and agents local to the customer. Though minimal, court costs and non-contingent fees must be paid by client and recommended on a case by case basis.
